VOICE STUDENTS should seriously consider this one:


Music Theory and Sight-Singing with Susannah Steele, $90
Mondays 7-8 pm
This class is geared towards experienced music students looking to learn about written theory and improve their aural skills. Topics include a brief review of music reading fundamentals, harmonic analysis, voice-leading, and musical form, as well as aural skills such as melodic and rhythmic dictation and sight-singing. Classes are offered 9 weeks per term beginning on September 10, and each class lasts for one hour.  For more information, contact Susannah Steele (ssteele@musicacademync.org).

The Voice Department at the Music Academy of North Carolina is proud to host a masterclass given by critically acclaimed American mezzo-soprano Marion Pratnicki. Ms. Pratnicki is on the voice faculty at University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Please join us for what will surely be an informative, enriching and delightful event.

September 16th:  Student Showcase Recitals at 12:30pm, 2:00pm, and 3:30pm
                              in the Performance Hall

September 21st at 6:00pm:  Zoosical! A Children's Concert: This concert will feature the best of classical and pop music based on your favorite animals. Come dressed as your favorite animal and be ready to dance, sing, meow, and cock-a-doodle-doo!  Tickets are only $5.  Performances will be in the Performance Hall.  Click here to buy tickets!
